Flint and Flame is a rapidly expanding brand, supplying tens of thousands of customers with high quality kitchen products helping those who love to cook (and those who don’t) have the ultimate cooking experience. Flint and flame contacted Silverback to revamp their UK website. Whilst the existing website was working as intended and continued to drive sales, it had began to look its age, and did not allow Flint and Flame to fully showcase their products. Additionally, the site had become bloated with content, a lot of which, was not housed in the right sections. The main objectives for this brief were to:
- Provide customers with a more modern look and feel.
- Make the products the 'star of the show', letting the imagery do the selling.
- Provide an easier, slicker shop experience.
- Re-work the site structure, ensuring the content is where customers will expect it.
-Move to a modern, wider style of design allowing for great looking banners.
Following an initial discussion and review of examples, the key takeaway emphasized the website's primary role as a functional sales platform. This directed the design towards prioritising functionality over aesthetics. Updating the brand's visual identity was also a necessary part of the revamp – utilising excellent product photography, refined typography, and a black, gold, and red colour scheme to establish a professional, high-end brand.
